STAGES OF LEARNING THROUGHOUT THE MUSE EXPERIENCE

MUSE Global School’s unique approach to learning begins with Early Childhood Education and carries all the way through High School. Each stage will encompass the appropriate experience for each child as they move through their time at MUSE. The MUSE Five Pillars are present throughout each level and grow with the student, each becoming more in depth. Everything from Specialist courses to student passions grow with the student as they thrive throughout their educational exploration.

WE BEGIN IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECE)

Starting from Early Childhood, the youngest of MUSE students begin exploration through outdoor education, they have full access to our enriching campus and explore it from top to bottom. They hike our trails, explore our beautiful gardens, and swim in our heated pool. Our youngest learners meet as a department at MUSORY time to begin embracing the foundations of Self-Efficacy and Communication covering topics such as mindfulness, compassion, resourcefulness, and persistence. Our seed to table, visual arts, performing arts, and foreign language teachers meet with preschool students weekly. Student Passions are introduced as teachers develop relationships with each child and discover individual interests.

MOVE THROUGH ELEMENTARY

As our students graduate to elementary, they spend more time engaging with our specialist teachers and in our weekly MUSORY class. They are provided with opportunities to explore off campus as well. Off campus field trips are designed to enrich and expand upon what is happening in the classroom as well as incorporating student passions. Previous field trip destinations include The Natural History Museum, Underwood Family Farms, The Observatory, Beach clean-ups and local farmers markets.

At the Elementary level, students begin their journey of mentorship. Teachers facilitate, support and foster connections between students and experts in the areas of individual passions. These experiences may be as simple as a one time interview with a mentor or a semester long mentorship. In later elementary years, MUSE offers health and wellness workshops throughout the school year with MorethanSexEd.org. Facilitators bring curriculum to the MUSE staff and faculty, parent community, and students.
