Is Muse Global Remote Learning Right For You?
Our world is evolving. Shouldn’t the way we educate students evolve with it?
Over the past few years, virtual education has exploded as a dynamic alternative to the traditional classroom. This was partially out of necessity, with the COVID-19 pandemic pushing remote learning school enrollments. However, the trend is still pushing forward even in the post-pandemic world. Gone are the days when students were bound by their geographical districts. Now, children from all over the world can receive a world-class education from the comfort of their homes.
But what are the actual benefits of remote learning? Today, we will examine why a virtual education might be perfect for your family’s busy schedule.
Flexibility
As any parent knows, balancing the family schedule can be tricky. It can be even more challenging with unusual circumstances like crazy work schedules or spending extended time on the road. That’s where the flexibility of virtual education can come in handy. Rather than being tethered to a specific location for eight hours a day, students can do their work from wherever they are. All you need is a computer and a stable internet connection and you’re ready to learn!
This flexibility also allows students to expand their learning by giving them more time to focus on other things like extracurricular activities or hobbies.
Expanded World-View
Using the power of technology, students from all across the globe can participate in virtual learning. This allows students to interact with classmates from a variety of different cultures and perspectives. The online setting also allows for more collaboration through group work, message boards, and class meetings, allowing your student to gain more intimate insights into a culture that is not their own.
Accessibility
Not every student learns the same way. Virtual learning can provide students with the accessibility tools they need to learn their way. Video conferencing tools like Zoom and Microsoft Teams let you record lessons to rewatch later. They also provide volume controls and live subtitling for students with hearing impairments or those who just need extra help focusing.
Immediate Feedback
Adding more technology comes with its perks. Instead of waiting days or weeks for feedback on your exams and assignments, you can get it almost immediately. This allows students to learn faster and make the adjustments they need for future assignments.
The MUSE Global School Remote Learning Difference
In 2006, our founders – James and Suzy Amis Cameron – launched MUSE Global School as an alternative to the traditional classroom. Since then, it has grown to be a comprehensive revisualization of how an education system can inspire parents and children alike to lead happier, healthier, and more successful lives while positively impacting our planet’s sustainability. And as we move forward in this more digital-forward landscape, we know that how we teach children must also evolve.
In our Remote Learning programs, we work with families to develop Long Distance Learning Plans (LDLPs) for our students with atypical schedules. In these plans, students use their MUSE emails and MyMUSE portal to communicate with teachers, track all needed modules, submit assignments, and access resources. This allows students to complete their work and get their education on the schedule that works for them. And even though they won’t be joining us on our Calabasas campus, each student will be taught using the Five Pillars comprising the MUSE Global School foundation and participate in the same passion-based learning model that all of our in-person students use.
